Biodiversity 2019 Gifts, a diving resort proud of their staff

Raja Ampat Biodiversity Nature Resort, our diving resort in Indonesia, actively supports initiatives for local infrastructure and social community development. Some examples of these initiatives include education, training, health and sanitation, and projects addressed to minimize the impacts on climate.

Today we wanted to write a brief article about how proud of our staff we are, and the way we tried to thank them for their hard work and constant efforts.

A diving resort focusing on Ecotourism

First of all, you are not probably aware that Biodiversity Nature Resort is one of the top diving resorts focusing on Ecotourism in Indonesia.

We are situated on the Raja Ampat, which has some of the best diving in Indonesia as well as some of the best snorkeling in the world. We started out as a small resort and, as this dream has grown over the years, it has also experienced many complexities to keep up with the ever demanding increase in tourism to the Raja Ampat.

Local Staff

One of our commitments as a sustainable and responsible ecotourism resort is the welfare of the local community.

Since we started on 2013, we decided to train locals in the hotel and diving industry as part of our staff. We definitely consider that local residents have to be given equal opportunities for employment and advancement, including in management positions. And that is what we are doing at Biodiversity, as most of our employees are from the neighbour villages.

Reflecting on this 2019, the one factor that is very important to our continued development and growth as a resort is again our staff at Biodiversity.  They are our anchor for the resort and their continued loyalty and dedication is never gone unnoticed.

Staff satisfaction, Guests satisfaction

We, as a resort, wish to always maintain our good relations, because through this, staff performance is maximized. In return this situation increases the level of guest satisfaction when visiting Biodiversity.

This is an important synergy for the concept we have as an Eco Resort, where Ecotourism is very important to us.

Ultimately, it is because of our guests, (who trust Biodiversity for their holidays), that we are able to hire a good percentage of local staff without previous experience in hospitality or diving. We train them in different areas to develop their skills, which they would not have had otherwise. In this way, they will be able to earn a living in the tourism industry elsewhere, and our goal as an Ecotourism operator.

Christmas Hampers

To show our appreciation and gratitude to our staff and spread the Christmas spirit last year, we decided to hold a Christmas gift distribution on the 18th December.

One gift was a Christmas bonus, and a second gift contained food, drinks, nutritional supplements and tools that can be used for daily needs. Each staff member also received personalized mugs as well as water bottles.

This Christmas gift box has become a tradition at Biodiversity so that all employees can feel the joy and happiness that surrounds this festive season with fellow staff members. We as a team are one big extended family.

Through this tradition we wish to show the staff our continued commitment and appreciation for their solid team work. Their exemplar dedication, something we would like to maintain in the future.

Thank you to all our staff at Biodiversity!

2019 was a really great year for us, we look forward to what 2020 is bringing!
