Raja Ampat was ruled by Tidore Sultanate that finds its origin from the Maluku Islands. During the 15th century, four kings were selected to effectively govern and rule the group of islands. They were appointed to rule the four largest islands namely Misool, Salawati, Batanta, and Waigeo. Associated with the four kings, the name Raja Ampat finds its origin from them. 610 islands are within Raja Ampat. Waigeo Island
This island is amongst the biggest ones found in Raja Ampat and the development makes it stand out. Misool Island
