Where Is Raja Ampat?

We are located in Raja Ampat, an archipelago in West Papua (Indonesia). This is a vast area of the equatorial Pacific Ocean known as the Coral Triangle (an area that also contains parts of Malaysia, The Philippines, eastern Indonesia, Borneo, and the territory east of the Solomon Islands). It holds the title for hosting the world’s greatest coral reef biodiversity. The seas around the Raja Ampat Islands are home to some of the richest variety of species in the world, including 75 percent of all known coral species.

Where Is Raja Ampat Biodiversity Eco Resort?

Raja Ampat Biodiversity Resort is located on Gam Island (0°27.678’S, 130°41.933’E), in the Central part of Raja Ampat. We are a 30-minute boat ride away from the city of Waisai (Capital of the Raja Ampat Regency, located on the island of Waigeo) and 77km Northwest of the main airport in the area, in Sorong (Domine Edward Osok Airport, SOQ).

Biodiversity Eco Resort is located on a sandy white beach, known locally as Pantai Yenanas. We are just at the entrance to Kabui Bay, 2km away from Yenbeser village (where Sir Alfred Russell Wallace did his research on the evolution of species) and 2.5 km from Friwen and Saporkren Villages.

We are right in the heart of Dampier Strait, only a few minutes away of the most famous dive sites in Raja Ampat.

Here you will step out your front door onto a pristine white sandy beach, the perfect place for long strolls. When it is low tide, you can even walk to nearby beaches. Or just relax in the hammock, drinking in the peace and quiet! It is such a natural paradise!
We encourage you to visit the Raja Ampat region and West Papua, and to find out for yourself what a unique ecotourism destination this is!
