Just married? Raja Ampat is the perfect place for you. Enjoy the ideal Honeymoon in Raja Ampat.

A new adventure begins when you say I do, so why not start off as newlyweds with an adventurous, romantic, fun filled honeymoon in Raja Ampat?

If you have visited Bali, and you want something with less crowds, then it is time to explore the other beauties and charms that Indonesia has to offer.

The Archipelago

Raja Ampat, located at the easternmost tip of Indonesia, is currently receiving the most attention from Indonesia’s president, Jokowi, as he keeps inviting everyone to visit. He highlights the natural beauty of the islands, as well as emphasises on the biodiversity of the underwater species that are in abundance around all the islands.

There are natural currents flowing through Raja Ampat, and being situated in the Coral Triangle, you will be really amazed by what you discover here.

The archipelago consists of more than 1,500 small islands and canyons that surround four main iles, the Four Kings: Misool, Salawati, Batanta, and Waigeo.

Cultural Heritage

On land, there is a very diverse cultural heritage. You will find prehistoric cave relics aswell as cave bunkers and seabed debris from World War II. Visitors can hike through lush forests, see traditional village life in local villages and visit turtle
sanctuaries and pearl farms. It is so rich in culture that you will really get to take in the profound wonder of this place!

Once you have decided that Raja Ampat is the Honeymoon destination for you, you will need to do a little research on which island you wish to visit.

Wasai

Waisai (Waigeo) is the gateway to heaven, and the centre of the whole archipelago. It is the meeting point before you start your journey to the surrounding islands. This place offers more than just a busy port.

Waisai has several dive sites and the roads are fun here. There is a transparent Waiwo beach, clear as glass.

After spending time under water, exploring all the endemic marine life, it is time to observe wildlife in the forest. Many islands in Raja Ampat offer beautiful scenery and unique and dramatic wildlife encounters that are not found anywhere else.

Raja Ampat is home to many endemic species, including rare plants and exotic birds. The most sought after birds to observe are the birds of paradise.

Weather

The weather is a constant temperature throughout the year with winds picking up from mid-June to mid-September. However the climate is typical to a rainforest tropical climate range. Random thunder showers, calm beautiful crystal clear waters and sunny hot days in Paradise!

Is there fast access to Raja Ampat?

For most travelers who start the journey from the island of Java, they must fly to Sorong from Jakarta. You can also fly from Makassar, Ambon or Manado.

Available flight services: Lion Air, Xpress Airlines, Sriwijaya Sriwijaya Airlines, Nam Airlines or Garuda Indonesia airlines.

Sorong Airport (Domine Edward Osok Airport, SOQ) is the closest airport to Raja Ampat. Keep in mind that people know it better as Raja Ampat Airport, because this is the nearest airport to the archipelago, and it is integrated directly with
the closest ferry port to Waisai.

Bahari-Express operates every day, departing from the Port in Sorong, with daily services at 9am and 14pm (both commutes). The fee is IDR 100,000 / pp 220,000 IDR / pp VIP.
