OTHER WILDLIFE at Biodiversity

Besides the spectacular marine Biodiversity, Raja Ampat also has an abundance of other wildlife. Surrounded by nature and just behind the virgin jungle we are integrated perfectly and with this advantage the animals come to us! This is why when you come visit Indonesia and stay in our diving resort in Raja Ampat you not only see marine life but all the animals that live in this paradise!

The Spotted Cuscus

This peculiar animal has found a home with us at Biodiversity. You will spot our resident male around the main areas as well as near the cottages almost every evening. He prefers to be up in the trees while looking for food, but he has occasionally joined us at the bar for a “banana Smoothie”. All you need to do is look up or listen carefully at night and you’ll spot him!

The White Lipped Tree Frog

This bright green frog is can also be spotted around the resort. You would think the first thing you see would be the frog, but actually the noise the frog makes is what gives it away! It makes a loud barking/croaking noise which is very distinct this frog.

This bright green frog is can also be spotted around the resort. You would think the first thing you see would be the frog, but actually the noise the frog makes is what gives it away! It makes a loud barking/croaking noise which is very distinct this frog.

This unusual animal is a lizard! They have a bright blue tail and are quiet small so you will need to look closely in the trees to spot the blue tail, this will give him away!

You will be greeted every morning with many birds flying around the resort, and will be a great wakeup call!
White-bellied Sea-eagles, Gurney’s Eagle, Osprey and more than 7 Lesser Frigate-birds. The jetty of the resort is good for observing the hill-forest flanks on which Sulphur-crested Cockatoos, Papuan Hornbills and Brahmany Kites are easily exposed
