Biodiversity Nature Resort is the best option for a safe holidays in Indonesia after the COVID 19. Our eco resort guarantees a lovely, private and secure stay in the Raja Ampat paradise.

But where are the RAJA AMPAT islands and what will I be able to discover?

Raja Ampat is situated off the northwest tip of the Birds Head Peninsula (New Guinea, West Papua). Raja Ampat, meaning Four Kings, is an archipelago compromising over 1500 small islands surrounding the four main islands of Misool, Salawati, Batanta and Waigeo.

Biodiversity Nature Resort is on Gam island, which is to the west of Waigeo. We are in the heart of the Coral Triangle as well as the Dampier Straight, which is full of marine richness.

We find many species that are endemic to our area, making it a nature lovers and scuba divers favorite destination

How do I get to the Raja Ampat Islands?

From your country you will need to fly to either Jakarta or Bali.

From here you will get a connecting flight to Sorong

Once you arrive in Sorong you will need to make your way to the ferry terminal for either the 9 am ferry or the 2 pm ferry which goes to Waisai, the capital of the archipelago.

They ferry is a quick 2 hours and offers two options of comfort, VIP or Economy.

Once you arrive in WaisaiBiodiversity Nature Resort will be waiting for you to take you by speed boat to the resort.

The benefit of going to a small personalized resort like Biodiversity is that we organize your entire travel itinerary from the moment you land in Sorong airport, making your arrival to this beautiful part of the world stress-free.

When is it more convenient to travel? Is this type of travel more expensive?

The best time to visit Raja Ampat during your holidays in Indonesia is between the months of October and April. This is considered the high season because the conditions are better for divers. The seas are flat and calm. The waters are full of richness, which brings an abundance of diversity into the area, in particular the oceanic mantas.

Many people ask about the rain, we have a tropical climate, so the rain is around all year. There is no rainy season.

With regards to accommodation, Raja Ampat caters for all budgets, just like any other destination on the world.  The only advantage to Raja Ampat is that it is remote and mostly has smaller, more personalized resorts like Biodiversity Nature Resort.

With the current situation the world faces, this is the perfect destination for post Covid-19. Social distancing will not be an issue, and you will be in nature, with fresh clean air and the resorts are widely spread over the archipelago, none being close to the other. Do I need to be vaccinated to spend my holidays in Indonesia?

Although it is not compulsory, the WHO advises in this link to make sure you are up to date with all your vaccines.

Any other specified vaccines required by a country should be taken (example – some countries require yellow fever vaccines before entry).  This should be looked into and discussed with your doctor before travel so you receive a professional opinion on the matter.

What can I do in these islands?

There are many activities and excursions you can do in Raja Ampat. The main draw point being scuba diving and snorkeling.

Many people come here for the healthy marine life and the abundance of diversity all found in this one area. You can either use a liveaboard or stay at a resort where your diving itinerary will be organized for you.

Besides diving you can also go jungle trekking to see the endemic birds of paradise, go on full day excursions that take you around the different islands, some of them being iconic to the area (FAM islands), or experience some of the culture by visiting the villages of Yenbeser and FriwenKayaking is also another way to experience the unique landscapes.

The best way to experience all of this is to look for accommodation that will serve as a base of operations and support for any kind of excursion you want to make.

Biodiversity Nature Resort is situated 30 minutes from the Waisai ferry terminal and is central to all the best dive and snorkeling sites in the Dampier straight. Being a small, personalized eco-friendly resort that offers kayakingvillage trips as well as full and half day excursions, means you can do it all safely and with professional staff, so you are well looked after.
