Biodiversity in the Media

Our Story

Following our dream, we have created a small, intimate resort where we can share this paradise with other divers and nature lovers.

We hope to share our passion for diving, for nature and for responsible tourism with you!

We would like for your to feel comfortable and merge into the Biodiversity atmosphere. Your confort i sour priority . As Gandhi said In a speech in South Africa in 1890:

“A customer is the most important visitor on our premises. He is not dependent on us. We are dependent on him. He is not an interruption of our work. He is the purpose of it. He is not an outsider of our business. He is part of it. We are not doing him a favour by serving him. He is doing us a favour by giving us the opportunity to do so.”

Patricia Sanz

In a nutshell: Patricia, a globetrotter born in Vitoria, Spain has achived invaluable experience after many years in the tourism/hospitality/diving industry, actively engaging in all areas: from kitchen, office, diving, reception, finance, accounting, manager, marketing…. in all continents, particularly Spain, UK and all over the South-East Asia region. These journeys/experiences fed the curiosity, and slowly conceiving her dream: try her luck her own project in underwater world. It became imperative to find a way combine the experiences in hospitality with the passion for the ocean. As with all projects, careers, objectives and all walks of life, “a journey of a thousand miles starts with a single step”…. And, voila! welcome Biodiversity Nature Resort!

Reynaldo Andaluz

Rey was born in San Salvador, El Salvador, and he immigrated to the US for a university education. Graduating from Engineering School, and successfully climbing the ladder in the corporate rat-race — as a way to fund diving, travelling, sailing hobbies — it was clear that this formula was not sustainable.   Slowly, after years of travels, visits, dives… the idea to merge the true inner life as a means to live took form, combined with the idea that “you only live once” itt was clearly decided to pursue the dream.

This is the main concept we would like to share with all our guests (No matter what’s your discipline), to pursue your own dreams and aim high, as high as the stars. For us, we are aiming for the big one: Raja Ampat Biodiversity Nature Resort and, now, raising our son Gael and our daughter Naiya!

Wanting to share this paradise (and our dreams) with others, we welcome you as our guests to Raja Ampat Biodiversity Nature Resort, as an extension of ourselves. Here you will find a friendly atmosphere and the service we always hoped to find when traveling: friendly, small, cozy, simple, comfortable, personal… We can’t wait to share our passion for diving, for nature and for responsible tourism with our guest. . . with you!

And, this is the ideal we try to plant in our staff, People who strive to create great work and want to be part of a realization project!

We’ve been doing this since 2013, and to make this kind of work, you need a shared vision and two pairs of hands (or four in our case!). We are meticulous, critical, and radically transparent. It’s why our guests keep coming back. When you strive for greatness in our own way, expect nothing less.

We bring standout immersive experiences to everyone. We turn a destination (Raja Ampat) into a must-experience-this-moment; believe in the positive contribution that we hope to make to the world. And we’re driven by our responsibility to do so. We elevate the work and amplify the voice of ambitious companies that tread lightly, contribute meaningfully and share our values of quality, community and sustainability. In this sense, our mission: to spread the word with the example that you can make a little difference, and choose your products/services etc.

And it’s our responsibility to create an environment that helps you enjoy your passion for diving/nature: balancing time spent underwater with time to do your own thing. Come by, you’ll see what we mean.
